Ayahuasca Dosage

The effects of any substance, including Ayahuasca, are influenced by multiple factors such as dosage, the mindset of the user (set), the environment (setting), along with individual and environmental circumstances. The spectrum of effective doses can range across five classifications: threshold, light, standard, strong, and heavy. Emphasizing harm reduction is crucial, especially with heavy doses, where the individual’s ability to respond in emergencies can be significantly impaired. During ceremonies, the presence of additional facilitators or helpers is highly recommended to ensure participants’ safety.

In the realm of Ayahuasca ceremonies, it’s imperative to have a deep understanding of dosages and exercise strict caution with the amounts consumed. Incorrect dosages can lead to a spectrum of negative outcomes, from extreme discomfort and anxiety to intense and unsettling visionary experiences, or even more severe consequences. Conversely, doses that are too low may lead to dissatisfaction and the risky decision to consume more than initially planned, potentially culminating in unexpectedly intense and hazardous experiences.

It is advised that users, particularly novices, start with minimal dosages and incrementally increase them in subsequent sessions as they become more comfortable, avoiding sudden leaps into uncharted territories. This cautious approach allows individuals to familiarize themselves with Ayahuasca’s effects in a controlled environment, significantly reducing the risk of adverse reactions. Remember, each individual’s response to Ayahuasca can vary due to factors like tolerance, neurophysiology, body weight, metabolism, stomach contents, and personal sensitivity.

Safety of Ayahuasca Brewing at AYA Healing Retreats

At AYA Healing Retreats, our Ayahuasca brew is meticulously prepared from the Ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) and DMT-containing Chacruna leaves (Psychotria viridis), adhering to traditional methods. In light of the surge in Ayahuasca tourism, it’s become increasingly important to be aware of the composition of the Ayahuasca brew, as some practitioners might add other substances to intensify visual effects, compromising the brew’s safety and authenticity.

We stand firmly against such practices, ensuring our brew contains only the traditional Ayahuasca vine and Chacruna leaves, with no additional substances. This commitment to purity and tradition not only upholds the spiritual integrity of the Ayahuasca experience but also prioritizes the safety and well-being of our participants. By controlling the source and composition of our Ayahuasca brew, we provide a safe, authentic, and transformative healing journey, allowing participants to explore with confidence and security.
